Has to do with winmm.dll. Apparently deleting or renaming it (NOT the one in Windows\System32) will fix the problem. See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/Application-error-0xc0000142-when-running-latest-beta-dev/m-p/783895
