Is there anyone on hire for some complex terraforming?

There are people who do custom terraforming.  Some of them advertise on the Marketplace.  There are many more (and much more affordable than hiring a contractor) custom terrain files.  Search the Marketplace for "RAW terrain".  Perhaps one of these would get you close to what you want, and using the terraforming tools would do the rest.

Besides the in world terraforming tools, there's software out there for creating your own RAW terrain files.  For example, there is a free version of Terragen and a tool called "Bailiwick" to convert Terragen's files to RAW format.

There are a couple of options, if you're uneasy about messing with the terrain on your actual region.  There is a sim in world set up for practice terraforming.  You could also install the free OpenSim software on your computer, create a region, and then terraform that to your heart's content.  When you have everything the way you like, export the terrain as a RAW file and apply it to your Second Life region.
