So I registered my birthday as older than 18, because I am, I am 23. Yet my account says that I not!

Question

Trying to get into a adult sim and it says that my account isnt of the right age? I regesters as my birthda at 1993 when I was born...I'm sorry but unless I'm thick at math that pegs me at 23 years old........ you have to be 18+ to enter some rooms on the sim....

EDIT: I don't get that answer - so Avatars have an age on them too, cause my avatar is like a day old....

What Alwin means to say is that landowners, especially on Adult regions, very often block anyone less than 30 days old from entering.  It's nothing personal.  The most annoying griefers in SL either get bored and leave or they are banned within their first  month here, so blocking all newcomers keeps those nasties out.  So, spend your first month exploring elsewhere, honing your basic skills, and meeting people.  When you're a month old, try those adult regions again.

That's right, Yukii...you have your Real Life (RL) age; you entered your birth date when you signed up.  Being over 18 allows you to access Adult content and locations.

But most of Second Life's land is owned by one of the residents.  A land owner has the right to admit, or to not admit, anyone she pleases to her land.

As Rolig says, a lot of Adult clubs limit access to residents who have been in Second Life at least 30 days.  You can see your avatar's "age", the time since you registered, in your Profile.

This is not true of ALL Adult venues, it's the land owner's choice.  So go ahead and try some other Adult areas if you like.  Some of them will let you visit even if you aren't yet 30 days old.

Before you do, though, have a look at a couple of my blog posts, to get a feel for the things you'll encounter and the etiquette you'll be expected to follow.
