Your land will accommodate a land impact of 5800.    This might  comprise 5800 prims, or a quantity of mesh objects whose total land impact adds up to 5800, or some combination of the two.

Ordinary prims are one LI each.  The land impact of mesh objects depends on lots of things.   But your 5800 figure certainly includes land impact.

Those of us who've been in SL a long time think in terms of "prim count".  We say to ourselves, "My land will allow 5800 prims."

But ever since the introduction of Mesh objects, the way in which land's ability to host objects is calculated has changed.  The official term is now "land impact" and it is calculated somewhat differently than the old system.  It's a bit complicated, but you can see the details here: https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Calculating-land-impact/ta-p/974163

For most of us, the major practical result is that we can (sometimes) reduce the land impact of our prim-based builds by changing their physics model from "prim" to "convex hull."  This can reduce the impact of an object by nearly 50% in many cases, but it also has the effect of "closing off" the holes in hollowed objects, so one must be sure to test the build.
