When you have a crashing problem with one account, but not others, the problem is most likely NOT:

  • your computer
  • your viewer
  • or your internet connection

The problem is most likely THAT ACCOUNT.  It could be:

  • something you are wearing
  • an active group tag that contains special characters
  • a corrupt local file in the viewer pertaining to that particular account

If you can log in long enough to change your outfit, do so.  Log in, and then hit Develop/Avatar/Character Tests/Test Female (or Test Male).  If you don't have the Develop menu on your top bar, first hit CTRL+ALT+D and then CTRL+ALT+Q.

If you cannot do this, try logging in with a different viewer.  If you have an Android device, either the Lumiya viewer or Mobile Grid Client are good apps for this.

If you can log in, either with your main computer and viewer, or with another viewer, also change your active group tag, preferably to "None".

You can also clear your local cache for the problem avatar.  Go to C:\Users\(yourname)\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\(problem_avatar_name) and delete the entire problem_avatar_name folder.  Also find the cache folder for the viewer, and delete it.  The AppData folder is a "hidden" folder, so you may have to change your Windows settings to view it.

If none of the above helps, file a Support Case with Linden Lab.  They should be able to re-set your avatar.
