surrounding avatars a different color

Under your preferences, in SL, go to the graphics tab.. click advanced... there is a slider for Avatar COmplexity.  Slide that all the way to the right to unlimited.  This will allow your viewer to render all avatars regardless of their complexity.  Click apply and o.k. and those avatars around you that look like colored cardboard cutouts, should now be fully rendered.
