I am new to the second life community, and really don't understand how anything works. I am lost.

I am new to Second Life and was wondering of anyone can share with me how it works. I am totally lost, and need help in locating my Avatar and how to buy items. :smileysad: Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to SL and the forum!  I assume you have downloaded a viewer to get into Second Life?  If not, you can download from http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/.  Your user name is AriesFinest34 Resident.  Your password is something you created when you signed up.  Once you enter SL, you will 'see' your avatar in front of you.

Once you have downloaded the latest viewer and logged in, probably is basic mode, you will be able to do basic things such as move around and communicate. You can click on the 'destinations' button at the bottom of the screen.  Then click on the 'new user' category and New Citizens Inc. that is an awesome place with very helpful people and tons of freebies.

However you will need to logout and log back in on advanced mode before you can collect freebies or go shopping, as there is no inventory on basic mode.
