No issue AFAIK. My sound works with latest versions.

Anti-virus will sometimes kill the slplugin.exe file. You may try white listing that file in your AV and then reinstalling the viewer over the top of the existing install.

If you are on Windows 10 & the problem actually started when the anniversary update was installed, it may be this problem: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-40522

If that's the case, do the following to fix it:

1) Right click the Speakers icon on your system tray and select Playback Devices.
2) Right click the Speakers (or your chosen audio output) and select Properties.
3) Switch to the Advanced tab.
4) Under Default Format drop down menu, select: 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD quality).
5) Click Apply and OK.
6) Relog if needed.

Anybody who has Alienware and no sound - try deactivating Alienware soundcenter before opening SL - its the little icon of an alien head wearing headphones in hidden icons of task bar.
