LinuxGod4u
Making friends in SL at times can be challenging, but here is my two cents worth on this topic: A- Treat others with respect. B- Attempt to make conversation after looking at his/her profile seeking common interests. C- Complimets are nice, except when overdone & too often. D- I agree with others here stay in sims that are of interest to you. Although you can be civilized, & respectful to all here is the downside to attempting to make SL friends A- Always going be that person(s) trying to prove how smart they are & when they run into some with superior intelligence he/she becomes obsessed with trying to get you banned, so as to have bragging rights "see he/she was not that smart see what I did.." Unfortunately, SL appears to be "selective" on reprimanding these "stalkers." B- The "cyber bullying" by people with no real life, so play tough person in SL. No matter how polite you are he/she is only out to degrade others to fill that empty void in real life. The more you ignore them the more determined (obsessed) he/she becomes with tearing you down. Currently SL appears to be "selective" on enforcement against this cowardly & immature behavior. C- Do not cut others' avatars/appearnce down. It is far easier to tear someone down than to lift up another's self-esteem. D- Be careful taking to females; especially if their SL b/f is one those "special" friends of a sim owner empowered with banning rights who may become jealous of you, or you could find yourself banned from your favorite sim(s). There is no perfect formula for making friends in SL. "I Love Simplicity"

Yeah, when you are reading the profiles of females, it might be an idea to be respectful enough to notice that there is a damn good reason why they do NOT have a "b/f" but do have a "g/f". Same goes for males with a "b/f" not a "g/f". Common cause of conversation-fail in world is failing to notice those subtle clues that scream that whatever you have, they don't want. It might also be an idea to be respectful enough, to notice details like 'partnered' or 'currently with' or in love with ' etc., and not chat up other peoples dates too blatently, regardless of whether said significant other knows a sim owner or not. Peoples loved ones not having important friends doesn't make it acceptable to poach their dates.
LinuxGod4u
And for those with a "BLANK" profile gaze into a crystal ball right? OF the ones who neglect to put they are an "escort" etc in their profile use my ESP?. I assume sooner or later you hope you get me banned from this Forum right? I say let's "stay on topic" Afterall you are a Forum "member" & should be setting an example for this Forum. "I Love Simplicity"
Derek Torvalar
I think Klytyna SHOULD continue posting just as she has and sets a fine example for the Forum. Her authenticity wit and insight are admirable qualities and ones I look for in a friend. Unlike pomposity arrogance and self righteousness which are qualities which offend many.
