How come I am no longer able to hold down Space to slow your ascent dramatically after jumping?

If this is only happening on one avatar, most likely cause is you have an active gesture on that avatar bound to the space key, or it's caused by a worn attachment on that avatar.

Strip off all attachments & deactivate all gestures & see if the problem goes away.
