The Limit Buy order will stay open and unfilled until someone desperate enought to sell at the price you are offering comes along.  If you set your offering price really high, that could take .... forever.

On your dashboard at secondlife.com, open Manage >>>. LindeX Order History and look for your order. Click the cancel button.  The funds that were being held for the transaction will be transferred to your account's USD balance, where you can use them when you place a new Buy order.
