problems playing media regardless of where I am inworld

Some TVs aren't working any more, due to several changes in how media is handled in SL and on the internet in general.  For example, Apple no longer supports QuickTime on the PC, and recommends that you uninstall it due to security issues.  That means your PC won't play video in the .mov file format.
