You're not logging in completely, so the connection is timing out.  The problem is that your Internet is not "fine".  It may have plenty of bandwidth for web browsing, doing e-mail, watchingYouTube videos, and playing some on-line games, but bandwidth is only part of the story.  Besides, Second Life doesn't really use much bandwidth anyway.

Almost all games you have probably played online are relatively static.  That is, you download the game to your computer and it runs there without needing to communicate very frequently with a server somewhere or with other gamers.  That's not the way SL works.  A large chunk of the programming runs on Linden Lab servers, which have to maintain a continuous data stream with the viewer on your computer.  They trade data 45 times a second so that any changes that you make by moving your av or changing something nearby are made in the servers at the same time and are then sent to all other people who are in the same region.  It is critical that the servers and your viewer stay perfectly in sync.  Otherwise, you start  to get lag, have trouble teleporting, and find that things don't rez properly. Or, in your case, you can't even log in.

If you are using a wifi connection, switch to a wired connection instead (cable or DSL).  Linden Lab neither recommends nor supports wifi, and many users find that it lacks stability and can suffer from data loss.  Reboot both your router and your modem to be sure that their RAM is clear and that you have a strong, stable connection to an IP address. If your router is more than 2 or 3 years old, consider replacing it.  Add Google's free public DNS servers to whatever your ISP assigns you as a default. Here's how >>> https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using .  For other advanced suggestions, read Nalates's blog >>> http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/

ETA:  You might also check to be sure that your firewall or anti-virus routine are not blocking the connection.  You should make exceptions for Second Life in both of them.  See https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Using-Second-Life-with-a-firewall/ta-p/1304539 and http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/antivirus_whitelisting

Rolig gave a good answer and possibly the correct one for your situation.

There is the possibility that the region you are loging into is having a problem. Go to the web version of the Destination Guide and pick another location. Try logging into on a couple of those.

While you may have a great Internet connection, that does not mean you have a good connection to the SL servers. The particular set of routers you need to pass through to get from your computer to their servers may be having a problem. Check out the links Rolig gave you and figure out if the problem is on your computer, router, ISP, backbone, or the Linden's network.
