Hello!

So, I came to the conlusion that I only really use the firestorm viewer because of all the preinstalled windlight options.

I was wondering if there was a way I could download the windlight files from the Firestorm folder on my computer to the Linden Lab viewer folder.

I tried to experiment a bit and now my screen is completely black when I log in-world (which makes sense since I deleted the original windlight folder files in the official viewer settings to be replaced by the firestorm files), but before I reinstall the Linden Lab viewer to fix my mistake, can anyone give me any help on how I would go about this. I Just want  to have all those pretty windlights in the official viewer for my use!

Thank you!

It's not that hard to do.

It sounds like you may have messed up the installed LL viewer & maybe Firestorm viewer too though, so start off my re-installing both the latest version of the LL viewer and Firestorm.

Then do the following:

* Browse to your Firestorm install folder, by default this is C:\Program Files\Firestorm-Releasex64 for the 64bit versions of Firestorm and C:\Program Files (x86)\Firestorm-Release for the 32bit version of Firestorm.

* You will find all the pre-supplied Windlights inside \app_settings\windlight.

* You will not be able to use the extra cloud textures supplied with Firestorm on the LL viewer, so ignore the Clouds folder.

* The days folder contains all the supplied day cycles, the skies folder all the supplied windlight skies & the water folder all the supplied windlight waters. Make a copy of the days, skies & water folders.

* Replace the days, skies & water folders in the LL viewer install folder, app_settings\windlight with the 3 folders from Firestorm.

* Now, if you have created custom day cycles, water or skies while using Firestorm and you want to add these to the LL viewer too, your custom windlights are located in your user settings folder.

For 64bit versions of Firestorm: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm_x64\user_settings\windlight

For 32bit: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm\user_settings\windlight

You can either add your custom skies, daycycles & waters to the app_settings\windlight install folder in the LL viewer, or add them to your user settings folder for the LL viewer, which you'll find located at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\user_settings\windlight
