Why do I keep getting teleported to the edge of the sim whenever i try to sit on something?

Probably has to do with the script in the item. You're temporarily going to the 0,0,0 point on the sim you're on. Not really anything to worry about.

If it's happening with more than one place you try to sit, I'll guess that it doesn't have anything to do with the seat, especially of nobody else is having the same problem.  It's more likely that you are weaing some scripted object that is trying to teleport you but is having trouble because you are seated and therefore cannot teleport.  Identify everything you are wearing and then start taking off things that don't look familiar or things that you have bought or been given recently.  I think you'll find that one of them is the root of the problem.

It definately sounds like a script problem. Maybe one of the scripts you are wearing is no good. Try removing all of them and adding one at a time. Sometimes scripts clash as well.
