quick question regarding tech specs and sl

GPU: EVGA GTX 770 SuperClocked with ACX 2.0 Cooling (can be upgraded to a 4GB GTX 980)
RAM: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 (can upgrade to 24GB or 32GB)
SSD: 240GB OCZ Trion 100
PSU: Corsair CX600M (modular & 80-plus Bronze efficiency)
Case Cooling: 3x Thermaltake Riing Green LED 120mm fans, 1x Thermaltake Riing Green LED 140mm fan

 

just a question, with these base stats being ints on a desktop build, would those stats qualify as yay or nay for sl to run on max and be able to stay logged on even when im sleeping in rl?

Looks like fair enough specs.  770 is mid-range but should do okay on Ultra. ()

As for SL running while you sleep... Nothing can stop SL from sprining a memory leak and/or crashing.  At the same time, the power draw over idle for a PC running SL would be clost to keeping a 100W incandescent on all night.  If you're camping your avatar, you're spending more money than making and would be far better off buying gift or pre-payed cards to buy L$. ()

I tend to wonder, what do people actually gain by leaving SL on 24/7? ()

this isn;t a very good idea, nearly all gift and pre paid card are declined by the billing system.

Those cards only work when they are compatible with a verified paypal or skrill.

Ew.  Lame.  I used to generally advise using a straight up credit card, but, almost always get the retort that people don't have cards or aren't willing to give their info to LL.  (._.)

Whichever, camping is costing.  Best to find a way to outright exchange for L$ at market value than burn money for less money. (>_<)

There are many reasons to stay logged on SL overnight. I sleep with my wifey every night in SL because we can't always be together in RL for example. You assume it has to do with making Linden, it might not be.
