I wish Second Life would make it where we can change our sign in name to our second life name

Wish away.  "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride", as the old saying goes. It's not going to happen.

Until a few years ago (about 2010), we didn't have Display Names at all.  There are plenty of us who still wish we didn't.  As it is, Display Names give you a way to personalize your "nickname" if that's what you want to do, and then ignore your login name.  It's quite easy to do >>> https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Usernames-and-display-names/ta-p/700173#Section_.2

ETA:  I suppose it has occurred to you that you can create an alt.  Now that you are wiser, you can put more thought into naming the alt than you did the first time around.
