Why did I get an older home when I became premium member instead of a more up to date home?

Question

A few months ago I became a premium of Second Life. With it I got a free home.which is nice and all. Then I talked to one of the other residents and they told me about their home. From our conversation ,I found out that they had more prims and that their home didn't take up almost over 2/3 or of the available. I also found out that from another conversation with someone that I got a much older home than most would actually get. So my question is,did I get this home due what was available at the time or was it because I used a discount deal to start off?

Also my contract is almost over and I would like to know if it is possible to moe into a better home?

You can abandon your home at any time and pick a new one. Simply right click your land, go to about land, and click abandon. Then go to your dashboard and pick a new home.

I'm not sure about new/old. I didn't think they had changed these homes in a long time. Every home has a 117 prim allowance.

it is not possible to have a newer, or more prims to your Linden Home.

If i were you i'd talk again to them... i am totally sure they owned their own mainland ór rental somewhere.

In that case you can get as much prims and nice homes as you want...but also get the bill for it :)

You are always free to buy mainland or rent private estate land/sims. Your contract doesn't hold you from that.

Being premium is btw the only way to own mainland. Linden Homes are just a service for starters ( or some stayers) but lot of people grow out of it soon and want more...in the meaning of prims, and homes...

Either someone is ttelling you a very confusing story or you have misunderstood.

1.  All Linden Homes come on a 512 sq m. parcel and all have a 117 prim allowance.  No exceptions.

2. Linden homes do not use any of the prim allowance on the parcel.  You have full use of the entire 117 prim allowance.

3.  All Linden homes are the same age.  There are no "older" or "newer" ones.  There are several different styles to choose from, however.

4.  You may abandon your Linden home at any time and request a different one.  You may do that up to 5 times a day if you want.

5. You don't need to use your Premium land fee waiver to pay for renting a Linden home.  You may use it to pay the monthly land fees on any 512 sq m parcel that you own on the Mainland.  If you do that, a house that you build on the parcel will count against the 117 prim allowance for that parcel.

6. You may buy a larger parcel if you wish, and have a larger prim allowance.  If you do that, your Premium land fee waiver will pay the monthly costs for the first 512 sq m.  You pay the rest.

7. Your membership will renew automatically at the end of the period that you have already paid for, unless you tell Linden Lab that you do not want to renew.
