SecondLife crashes on startup

I haven't used SecondLife in over a year. When I launched SecondlLife Viewer , Mac OS X 10.7.5), the updater also launches and it installed a new version (4.0.5.315117). When I launch this new version of the viewer, it  crashes on startup.

I never allow automatic updates, because they can introduce just this sort of behavior.
