How does someone who is an "owner" get removed from a group other then removing them-self

Nobody can remove a group's owner.  An owner has to leave voluntarily, and a group cannot exist without an owner.  That means that the owner cannot leave without either ejecting all other members from the group, or appointing another person to be co-owner.  If a group owner leaves SL, it's almost impossible to remove him/her.  I am a co-owner of a couple of groups that were founded by people who have since died and will therefore remain as co-owners for all time (unless I eject everyone and them leave the groups myself).  It is not clear what happens if Linden Lab banishes a group's owner for life, but I suspect that it's the same thing that happens with assets that the person owned in world -- they remain, untouched.  If that were not true, we'd potentially have groups with no owner, which is not allowed.
