In your preferences on the Phoenix tab, Build tab, there is a checkbox for "enable highlighting on selected prims" has that got itself unchecked somehow?

try Ctrl + O this should being back the highlight to prims in edit mode you can also turn it back on with the tools menu 'show selection outlines'

I just checked on my Phoenix and Ctrl +O does indeed uncheck that box in preferences so that could be how it can be done accidentally.

yvw, gotta love shortcuts for accidentally messing things up, I switch the weirdest things off and on without ever knowing how lol

lol so true.. a pop up saying are you sure would be nice.. but then again.. it wouldn't be quite a shortcut then
