There is another one, Rolig!

  • Make an island out of prims and put the house on it.

I think the neatest water parcel "house" I've ever seen was a sunken fishing trawler.  It was embedded in the sea floor at an angle and looked just like a sunken wreck...but on the inside, the floors were level, and it was a perfectly lovely little home beneath the waves.

The second place goes to the underground underwater house.  This one was placed in a hole terraformed into the seabed, and a prim matching the sandy bottom covered it.  Beneath was a lovely, and almost completely undetectable, residence.

I've seen some really cool skyboxes too.  My favorites are the ones held up with propellers.

Here are some bilder's issues. This assumes you own the water parcel and have full building rights:

You can't rez anything by dragging it from your inventory onto the surface of the water. You have two options to rez things:

Swim down to the sea floor and drag things from your inventory onto the sea floor. After it rezes, use building/edit controls to move the object up to the surface.

Create a prim building platform (non-phantom and non-physical) at the hight you want, then drag things from your inventory onto the building platform to rez them. You can also walk on this platform. When you are finished building, you can delete the platform. Some HUDs and some 3rd party viewers can create such a platform at any height up to 4096 m. Just fly up as high as you want and click the Rez Platform button.

Watch points: Physical objects will fall down. Non-physical objects will hover at a fixed hight. You can't walk on phantom objects (you will fall through). You can walk on non-phantom objects.
