Looking For Script That Moves Avi To Front Of Chair When Stand Is Clicked

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, I recently made a chair and was looking for a script that could move my avi to the front of the chair when I click stand instead of on top of it. I would rather not have to make the chair phantom. Thanks so much.

if push becomes a problem (and it can bc of the caveats) then another way can do it is

1) link a tiny transparent prim into the back of the chair

2) when the avatar unsits, trap this in the change event

3) when so then

a) grow the link prim upwards at least 1.4 meters (higher than the midpoint of the avatar bounding box),  and

b) forward as long as the chair seat, and

c) 2x as long backwards (thru the back of the chair), and

d) 2x the chair width

this will ease the avatar forward onto the floor in front of the chair. Then after a time resize the link prim to tiny ready for the next sit

have to play a bit with the sizing and the timing to get this right

Another option:

You make a sitting animation with an offset 2m forward.
The sit target (and position of your avatar) is then 2m behind the chair while you seem to sit on the chair.
If you stand up you will be 2m behind the chair.

Of course you need to make the animations yourself then.

But i LIKE standing on furniture.

It brings back fond memories of logging in to find my av standing on her bed, ready to start a noob day. :matte-motes-smile:

Incidentally, just for completeness .... It should be obvious that if you can slide a chair forward as an av sits and backward again if she touches the chair to unsit, you could also just as easily rotate the chair.  Think of how you use a swivel desk chair in RL.  Click to sit and the chair swivels to face the desk.  Click to stand and the chair swivels 90 degrees and unseats you. My simple script isn't hard to modify if you wanted to do that.
