Your Premium membership renews automatically, unless you deliberately cancel it.

To cancel your Premium membership, you must first abandon your Linden Home, and sell or abandon any other Mainland you own.  

There is no land that you can buy where you only have to pay a one-time purchase price.  Land in Second Life represents resources on a server, so you are really renting server space.  Because of that, you will always pay some sort of periodic fee for land, either tier to to Linden Lab, or rent to another resident.
