My account has a negative linden dollar amount. How does that happen?

most likely you are in groups that have liabilities checked for all members, you can ask the owner to uncheck that, or leave the group.

ór you own a group yourself and you pay the liabilities yourself....

ór your own group is listed in search ... you also pay for that.

 

or... as last... there's nothing wrong with your balance, only your viewer doesn't show the right amount. A relog or look at the account page will show the right balance...

Alwin gave a good answer. I'll add, click on the L$ amount at the top-right of the viewer. That will cause the amount to refresh.

As the viewer starts a lot is happening and it is common for it to miss a bit of data here and there. The L$ balance is sometimes one of the victums.
