"It"?

If "it" says that, you probably don't. Get off wifi.  Connect to the router with a cable.  Reboot your router and your modem and restart your computer. Check to be sure that you don't have a firewall or antivirus routine preventing you from connecting.

Without more information, there's no way that anyone here can guess why you don't have a connection, but those first steps may point you in the right direction.

There are a number of things that can prevent or drop a connection to SL servers.

If a region is down, that can prevent a connection. You can try logging into another region. I know the names of several regions just in case I have a problem logging into my home region. Furball and Pooley are a couple of Linden owned regions you can try.

If you can log into the SL web sites, your hardware and Internet service is working. If not a computer and gateway/router/modem restart is in order. If still not working, a call to your ISP.

From time to time SL has problems. They sometimes last for minutes but, other times for hours. Any problem that lasts for more than an hour or two usually shows up on the Grid Status page. Planned outages are announced there too.
