Well, your new laptop seems to be an upgrade, so I would expect improvement from the game. Test it out. Hopefully you have some sort of return policy if it doesn't work out for you. Expandable RAM? EXPAND IT. Okay, maybe that's just me, lol. If I could expand it, I would. But honestly, just give the game a try. I mean, it's not like you have to wait for a six hour download.

Does anyone know based entirely on comparing the processors and graphic cards will I notice a difference?

Both graphics cards are carefully calibrated to render objects in a photon-friendly format (typically across a backlit surface called a 'monitor'), which will be recieved by your photosensitive ocular sensory organs, located frontwise of your cranium.

Use these to find out.

I always use this website to compare.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-840M.105681.0.html (new video card)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-4250.29664.0.html ( old Video card)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i5-4200H-Notebook-Processor.102725.0.html ( new cpu)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Athlon-II-P320-Notebook-Processor.33925.0.html (old cpu)

Based on the basic info there it certainly is an upgrade but I wouldnt expect worlds diffrence.

Np,  btw, The reason I say dont expect worlds difference, is because sl can crush even the beefiest systems.  Anyone that tells you different is lying. youll be able to run pretty reasonable fps and higher settings. Just remember shadows and other mesh people are killers.

you will get some improvement, tolerable most of the time when accept the defaults that the viewer suggests. Or less than the default suggestion

the second number 4 in 840 is the key to how Nvidia rank their cards. A 4 can do 3D graphics (better than the card you have now) , is just that Nividia themselves suggest at least a 5 for intense graphic applications
