How can I permanently delete the calling cards?

I assume you mean SL viewer version 4, unless it's been quite a while since you updated your viewer.  In any case, KarenMichelle is quite right.  Calling cards are there as a convenience, as a quick way to contact people who have given them to you, even if they are not on your friends list.  As an interesting side benefit, they are one way to get a chronological list of all the people you know well (It's how I know that Abbey was my first friend in SL, back in 2007. She's the first calling card in my folder.)

You can't delete your calling cards on the LL viewer, they will just recreate from your friend list the next login.

You will have to use a TPV that doesn't tie the calling cards to the friends list if you wish to keep all your calling cards apart from your own  deleted.

Firestorm 4.7.7 viewer will allow you to do this, but if you login on the LL viewer again, the calling cards will come back.
