i liveon a private island in which i am a resident

i live on a private island as a geust. not paying rent and my house is actually owned by island owner.

is it possible for the owner to listen in on private converstaions made by me(IM's) with someone,

when i'm in that house?

To answer your question, it is not possible for somebody to listen in on IMs. Well, I suppose Linden Lab could if they really, really wanted to and had a few thousand hours to spare but they won't.

Just make sure you are on IM. Local chat is open to anybody of course and it's easy to post in the wrong chat window by accident.
