So I got banned from an Auction House, and the owner won't refund my bids, now what?

Hai Guyz,

I made several bids at an auction house, about 5,000L worth. I was there today checking on my bids, only to receive an IM accusing me of "poaching"(offering money to drop out of the auction). I asked the owner to refund me, but he has never responded. Do I have any recourse?

I am sorry to tell you that you don't.  This was business between two residents and LL will not get involved in it as stated in the TOS.  All business transactions are made under the warning "Buyer Beware".

This is considered a personal avatar to avatar disagreement. Linden Lab will not get involved.

A nice NC to the Auction House owner/manager may help.

Remember, you can be banned anytime for anything or for no reason at all. Land owners retain all rights to access.

Otherwise, If the bids auto fulfill, then if you lose the bid your L$ should be returned to you automatically. If you win the bid your purchase may likewise be delivered to you.

Did you read the rules of participation for that Auction House? There may be information in them to aid you.

They accused me of poaching the prospective auctionees. I denied it. The owner says that I hit up on his alt, which I didn't. My only guess is that someone I've pissed off made some stuff up in retaliation. I just want my money back at this point.

If they don't want to give you the money back, they won't.

Does this mean said auction house was attempting to auction off alts of the owner?

Sounds desperate. *prepares popcorn*

You're better off knowing this and spending your time elsewhere. Probably saved yourself wasting future Linden Dollars buying timeslots with purpose-rolled stockroom alts instead of genuine people with interests and personalities worth placing bids on.

That part is typical andis  handeled by scripts.  You pay the board your bid.  If you are outbid, the script pays you back.

Exactly correct. If you paid a bid board and the auction has completed and you have not received your Lindens or your purchased item then you have a case of Fraud that is reportable.

If you paid someone directly......yeah, Caveat Empty Pockets
