what is impressions on the enhancement listing report?

Impressions is the number of times the ad is shown to someone.

There are more ads than there is space to display them so LL rotates them.  You don't see your ad because they are rotated and it just hasn't been displayed to you.  You may never see it unless you spend hours refreshing the screen it should appear on.

A number of Merchants are also paying for positioning on the Market Place Home Page.

So lets say you are in a pool of 400 other merchants who have paid for product placement and there are at most room for 11 items at any one MP Page web page presentation, then your product should appear every 400/11 = 36 page requests or so

That how it works in a nutshell.

The report tells you how many times your product ad was presented for the viewer to see. Each time your product ad is presented/published that is an increase in the impression count.
