Why can't I see Special Characters?

Why can't I see Special Characters? They show up as astrix, or Little Sqaures

 

I found a fix for this.

You need to get the font called "Arial Unicode MS" also found as file> ARIALUNI.TTF

which you would probably best find using a search engine, not sure of an exact source, or find a friends that sees them fine and get the font file from them.

Install the Asian Language Pack from your windows CD and that should take care of all the  special characters.

In Microsoft Windows XP

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options.
3. Click Add other languages.
4. On the Languages tab, select the Install files for East Asian languages check box.
5. Click Apply.
6. Click OK.
7. Restart your computer when prompted. If you are not prompted, click Start, click Shut Down, and then click Restart.

You need to install the Fonts you want....in your fonts folder then SL will see them. Also if things have not changed lol they have to be ASCII  also known as Ask U, last i knew SL did not reconize Hex Fonts
