Vanessa Wisent Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 hello everyone, i'm french i'm going to do my best explaining this. So the problem is when i rigg my clothe is blender ( ctrl p armature deform and transfer weights), when i import the clothe in sl everything is ok exept the straps when its a top or a dress with straps, its totally messed up, not like in blender!; its not going straight. can someone tell me if i missed something in blender?
arton Rotaru Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 A picture is worth a thousand words. :matte-motes-little-laugh: From your description I would guess the straps are weighted too much to the shoulder joints. In T-pose they will look fine, but with arms down, they can distort badly.
Vanessa Wisent Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Thank you for answering me, i didnt know i could post pictures here. so i always got this problem with straps
Vanessa Wisent Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 I forgot to precise, when my avatar's body is in appearence mode , so really straight it looks ok , but with my avatar moves the mesh cloth is being weird it doesnt stay right
arton Rotaru Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yeah, looks like you need to manually work more on the weights of the straps. I would weight them only to the chest and the collar bones. I don't use Blender, so I can't give you any advice on how to easily tweak the weights manually, though.
MIstahMoose Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Also looks like its straight out of MD or some other program, but 40k polys is really excessive for the design you have. I'd recommend considering retopology for projects like this, because not only does it make it easier to rig & Unwrap, but a lot easier for others to render as well as a reduced upload cost.
