Problems with alpha layers when changing outfits

Question

I have a problem since 2 days: when I change my outfit (replace current outfit), the places hidden by the alpha layers of the old outfit stay invisible.

In the wearing part of the outfit menu, these old alpha layers don't appear anymore, but on my av it looks like there are still here.

When I delog and relog, my av looks normal, with only the really worn alpha layers.

Any hints?

I suspect that what's happening is that your graphics card isn't refreshing textures on attachments properly. If you zoom your camera way out for a few seconds, so that your card is forced to download and render a lot of new textures, you can sometimes fool it into redrawing everything.  Teleporting to a new region will sometimes do the trick too, and so will relogging, as you have discovered.  All of this suggests that you might get some temporary relief by clearing your texture cache, so you might give that a try.  Read http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear , paying particular attention to the last full paragraph.

Are you using the Linden Lab viewer or a TPV that has the new coroutine changes?

If so, you may be getting hit with this bug: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-10391

There is fix for this bug that just went into the new Maintenance-RC viewer, which you can download here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/4.0.4.314012
