Why do some LMs have red pushpins?

Some landmarks have red pushpins; what special designation does a red pushpin indicate? Are there other colors besides plain brown? - TY

Hi Rivernaut,

Once upon a time, red landmarks were supposed to indicate LMs you hadn't yet visited. Once you did visit, the LM pin would turn "faded mauve". They never got that to work, so the pin color doesn't mean a thing.

Here's the 8.5 year old bug report, in which LL says they're not gonna fix it...
