You were not charged.  That is a test, to determine whether your card can be used for instant transactions.  It failed the test.  This is a very common way for a business to test your payment system.  The business charges your card $1 and then immediately tries to refund it.  If both transactions are completed within a few seconds, the card is verified.  If it takes longer, the card fails.  This is most likely to happen if you are using a debit card or a gift card or a prepaid card that cannot receive an instant refund. Those cards are not allowed.  It may take as much as a day or two for the refund to reach you.

Here are the only credit cards you may use:

  • Visa
  • American Express
  • MasterCard
  • Delta Online (non-U.S. Residents only)
  • JCB
  • Diners Club
  • Discover (U.S. Residents only)
  • Visa Electron (non-U.S. Residents only)
  • PayPal
  • Skrill
