think you are nr 999.999. who has problems with debit cards, there are a lot of post with this subject.

Some debit cards sometimes work... for longer or shorter... but most will be declined as payment option sooner or later.

You have no other choice than choose one of the payment terms LL  accepts

real credit cards

Skrill

Paypal.

Alwin is very likely right, it's definitely a problem we see here often.

You could try Billing Support (likely not a free service) to get a definitive answer from LL staff.

It's statistically unlikely that PayPal or Skrill would rip-off some a rando dude from the Internet (would be one heck of a long con), but it's on you to determine levels of trust. You can, of course, not link your hard-earned money to your PayPal/Skrill account and only 'top-up' with what you need but I fully expect there's other excuses hiding behind that one, too.

I used to be able to buy L$ , using my debit card.  And now I can't.  I don't see the logic in changing that into getting a paypal or skrill account.  I do not trust my hard earn money to a 3rd party, who can use my money as they see fit.

ok
