you setup a paypal account at paypal.com, not at SL.

If you do that, you have to verify it or SL won't accept it as payment option. ( verification will take a few days, but perhaps more now with eastern this weekend)

as soon it is verified you can add paypal as payment method in your profile. ( billing section)

You bought and sold, so you have a CC i think, add the paypal the same as you added the CC, the webpage will guide you through it.

When it's added you can use it to get your funds out of SL.

First, go to PayPal's website and set up your account by following the instructions there. http://www.paypal.com

Next, "verify" your PayPal account by linking it to a major credit card or a real life bank account, again following the instructions on the PayPal site.  This process will take a few business days to complete.

NOTE:  If you choose to use a bank account to back up PayPal, you MUST manually transfer enough money from your bank to PayPal to cover your Second Life expenses.  Linden Lab won't wait the several days it takes for money to transfer from your bank to PayPal, they demand immediate payment.  If there is not enough cash in the PayPal account to cover the transaction, it will simply fail.

Then, go to your Account settings here on your Dashboard page.  Follow the links on the left for Billing Information and add your PayPal account as your billing method for buying $L.

NOTE:  You must have made at least one PURCHASE of $L before you can transfer money out of SL to your PayPal account.

Now that you have done all of the above, go to the Linden Exchange section of your Dashboard page.  Click the Manage link and then "Process Credit."  Follow the instructions there to move some or all of your $USD balance to your PayPal account.
