Yes, the transaction should be instantaneous.

First, make sure you are looking at your $L balance here on the SL website.  Sometimes, the balance shown on your viewer in world does not update properly.  If that is the case, a relog should update it, or buying a freebie item, or having a friend send you $L1.

If your website balance does not show the money, look at your Transaction History.  Does that show the purchase?  If not, then look at your credit card or PayPal transactions and see if the withdrawal shows up there.  It's possible that the transaction failed completely, in which case you are not out any money, but need to do some digging to find out why it didn't go through.

If you used your $USD balance to buy the $L, and your Transaction History shows the money was taken out but the $L were not received, call Billing at one of the numbers below.
