Phil Deakins Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 It's time I asked this. CTRL-V (paste) works perfectly well in everything except this forum. It's supposed to work here but, when I try to use it to paste some text into a post, a box pops telling me to use CTRL-V. Why?
Rhonda Huntress Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Because it's borked? It works for me on IE10 and Firefox but it tends to move the cursor around in the edit box so I am never sure where the pasted selection will wind up. It works for me on IE10 <-- Ctrl V pasted test
Phil Deakins Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 That's it then. I've been using Microsoft Edge (that comes with Win10). I'm now using IE11 and it works fine with it. So I'll stop using Edge. Thank you Rhonda.
Radium Soup Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Same reason that google docs and similar services prohibit similar behaviour.

This is obviously not expected behavior and needs to be fixed. ...Dres

Phil Deakins Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 That's a differerent problem to the one I have. My problem is that I can't paste at all when using the Microsoft Edge browser. Instead I get a pop-up telling me to use the very keys that I'm using - ctrl-v. And besides, you know me well enough to know that I shy away from things as much as possible, and keep my head well below the parapet
Madelaine McMasters Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Add a comment to the JIRA, I suspect these Ctrl-V problems are related. I linked to this thread, so you're going to be heard whether you comment there or not. ;-).
Phil Deakins Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Being as how I have an aversion to roast meat when I am the roast meat, I've obeyed your instruction and posted a comment in it.
