Yes, Oculus Rift works.  No, you don't need it.  (Very few people have it, in fact.) No, AFAIK, you can't use other Oculus lookalikes.

Suggestions?  Here's the viewer >>> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Project_OculusRift/3.7.18.295296

I don't believe that it works properly.

I have the Oculus DK2 headset and it doesn't launch at all.

The error that I get is that my graphics card can't handle it... However, my card is the latest and greatest and I'm using Windows10 for an OS.

I would like some proof it works on a modern system.

Let me know, -Hose99

Hi there. I don't think so ... the error code is that my hardware isn't fast enough but I have the recommended specs for Oculus ... I thought millions of people used second life.

I thought as least hundreds were using DK2 ... but, I think the platform will be superseded unless the hardware is adopted. Why isn't there active development, with new code released at least quarterly? I guess I am saying that virtual reality will not truly work on second life (without hardware support). VR will have to develop elsewhere, I guess?
