whats keeping my viewer from logging in to the parcel home?

logging in is showing a "can not login to a simulator" message.

I tried several times, and the messege keeps appearing to block the viewer from functioning.

It appears that right now Linden Lab is restarting a very large number of regions - this isn't the day they would normally do that so it's unexpected. If the region you're trying to log into is in the restart process  you'll normally be dumped off into a "safe hub" region instead, and if those regions are full you'll get the message you're seeing. Things should be back to normal in an hour or two.
