turn off particles after 8 seconds ?

 I have a particle  script  it is set to  listen to  owner on channel 21  say on or off,   on  / 21 on it  starts the particle  burst   but i need it to automatically stop after  8 seconds   so not really need i the / 21 stop  part of the script  and  just cant work out how to do this.

Start an 8-second timer when you hear "on" on channel 21. When it's triggered (or when you hear "stop"), turn it off and do llParticleSystem([]).
