I've recently turned 18 yet I am still unable to change content restrictions.

It's now been three days since I'd turned 18 and yet I am still unable to modify the content restrictions preferenses, is there anything specific that I need to do to change these preferenses? Have I encountered some form of bug? What's going on?

No bug.  There's no automatic system that flips a switch when you become 18.  Or if there is, it doesn't always work.  Submit a support case and explain what you'd like them to do.  Linden Lab may ask you to send them a photocopy of some document -- a driver's license maybe -- to verify your age, or maybe not.
