Can I install a vendor in my backyard (on my sim) or should I install it necessarily in a shop?

Question

"

I mean, must I build a shop to install inside the vendor or is it OK if it is in my yard?

Tks

P.S.  Each time you say "depends on the covenant" I read it anxiously to see if it allowds me to do whatever I want.  It always say "This sim comes with FULL estate manager rights and has NO COVENANT. You can do on it whatever you want as long as you respect the T.O.S. of Linden Lab."  So I presume I can install the vendors.  The thing is I'm not going to sell things I make but affiliate vendors merchandise.  And do not really know how to choose between the dozens of hundreds of available products.  Perhaps I could choose things I desire and would happy to buy.  It's an experiment I'm thinking of, and up to now sometimes experiments succeed or else they lead somewhere else opening a path.

P.S.2 As per marketplace, I'm too young for that.

Whether it's allowed to install a vendor on your parcel is dependent on the covenant where you live.

Whether it's useful to install a vendor in a place that's not obviously for shopping is a different question, for which I haven't got an answer.

ETA: Grrr "(on my sim)". I should read the questions more carefully!

You own the region; you make the rules. If you have enough things for sale to justify building a shop and all the display equipment, go for it.  It could be fun. If you have only one or two things, you can put out a vendor or just drop them into a couple of prims and set them so that visitors can BUY a copy of the contents.  Or save yourself the land impact and maybe increase sales by putting them in your Marketplace shop.
