Well, one thing you should do is reinstall one of those other viewers. The Singularity viewer hasn't been updated since this time last year. It is now obsolete. You'll find that more and more parts of it fail to work properly, and it may not be long before it doesn't work at all. That could be one reason why you keep having inventory problems. Also, if you have been using Singularity because you can't get the standard Linden Lab viewer to run on your machine, it could be a signal that your machine itself is out of date or underpowered --- another reason why you could be having problems.
Despite those issues -- or maybe in addition to them -- your inventory is most likely to be corrupted by Internet failures. The cache on your own machine is refreshed when you log in, but can be damaged if your Internet connection is unreliable, losing data packets or experiencing moments of unusual delay. Your router maybe failing or simply in need of rebooting, or you may be using wifi or a satellite connection instead of a direct cable.
