Unless I've confused her with someone else or she's lying, she now has a chain of RL stores in the US.

Perhaps we're talking about different people.

But, I was referring to an avatar with initials:  SF.   She made tacky crap inworld, and if she's a RL designer, I'm the Queen of Sheba.  As for singing, I'd have to hear it to believe it.  (There's singing,... and then there's singing in tune!  ; )  Maybe she plays a musical instrument, but considering her fabricated BS that was spread on the old forum, I have doubts as to what level of profiency there may be.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, She was a He.

Curious George  -   RL scientist, educator, innovator, astronomer.

He was director of the The Meta Institute for Computational Astrophysics (MICA)  located at the

StellaNova  sim in SL for several years.

-------------------------

Patio Plasma  -   RL science director and educator at a well known CA science museum, and one of two people to share the honor of taking over Isaac Asimov's column at The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction

---------------------------

Jet Burns  -   RL -  Office of Chief Engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs (JPL)  (among other cool RL things) Heads up the JPL sim in SL.

Note:  All three tie their SL avatar to their RL person, and have been interviewed by various SL and RL media, regarding being in SL.   They also list their RL work, on their SL profiles.

I am, but I'm never gonna reveal the name of that particular alt.

Many years ago a friend claimed there were only 13 people on the Internet. He was surprised when I revealed I was four of them.

Here is what I actually said.

https://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussions/How-can-you-detect-an-alt/m-p/267167#M99691

But it certainly would apply to the internet as a whole.

Are you surprised I am your friend?

Plastic Duck is a Legend! Tizzers is a legend! I unno WHY Phil is so adamantly bitter, boarders on the delusional. People simply have gained notoriety in Second Life for the things they have done. If anyone has heard of them outside their personal associations it qualifies as fame or infamy or whatever. The noteriety remains whether the person persists on the grid or not. If here it's fame or even former glory if much is forgotten. Yet the moment endures if only in LEGEND.

DO something Phil D. If you are too little. GET BIG! Always been my motto hehehehehe

Why do you think I'm bitter? I'm not. I'm merely factual - stating facts - whereas you are stating your imaginations - mainly about yourself lol..

Of course, people have gained notoriety, within small circles, for the things they have done. That's undeniable. You're one of them. Similarly, people have gained fame, within small circles. A large number of contributors to this forum, and its predecessors, are some of them, including me. Somebody listed a load of them, but they were merely people he remembered from way back. Sort of reminiscing. Most of us only recognised one or two names. Some fame, huh? None of the above can be decribed as fame in SL. In small circels in SL, yes, but not throughout SL, which, I believe, is what the OP was asking. It amounts to people within a small circle knowing you, and that's all it is. After that, you're just another username.

Me do something? I'm too little? I'm known by pretty much everyone who has used this forum, and its predecessirs, over the last 8 or 9 years. Why, I even get talked about over at SLU once in a while, and I've never posted there. I even get written about by Prok, and I never even read her blog, let alone post comments in it (ezxcept one time when she wrote an article about me). I don't even have its URL. Because of the forum, I'm one of thousands of people, including you, who are as well-known as anyone else in SL - within the circles we frequent. But none of us can claim to be "famous people in Second Life".

Sorry, Jumpman. You are much too "little" to be considered as being famous, or notorious as you prefer, in Second Life. Enjoy your delusion though ;)

Of course, we may all have got it wrong, and the OP may have been wanting to know who the RL famous people are who are in SL.
