Examining,

Given the information you have provided this indicates that you are having one or more issues with your Internet Service Provider's connections. Secondlife access issues via VPN connections are notoriously hard to troubleshoot. This is because you own only the PC side of this equation and usually don't have great customer support from the VPN Service Provider.

As a quick test, logon using one of your accounts that has the least largest inventory to build.

At various times after Inventory building has started, select the HELP / About Second Life option. Copy and paste the Packet Loss data usually found at the bottom of that report here in your post.

It will look something like this:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Windows Graphics Driver Version: 10.18.0013.5891
OpenGL Version: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 358.91
libcurl Version: libcurl/7.38.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1h zlib/1.2.8
J2C Decoder Version: KDU v7.2
Audio Driver Version: FMOD Ex 4.44.31
LLCEFLib/CEF Version: 1.5.1-(CEF-WIN-3.2526.1347-32)
Voice Server Version: Not Connected
Built with MSVC version 1800
Packets Lost: 15/9,749 (0.2%)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If your Packets Lost: values are high, you have a major problem. Starting fixes include:

1) Making sure you are not using wireless.

2) Using a quality Ethernet CAT5 Cable to connect to your Router.

3) Having your Local ISP troubleshoot/replace your Router.

4) Having your VPN provider assisting you in measuring Packet Loss via the secure tunnel they are providing.

I'm sure others will chime in on other things you can do.

EDIT: Cassie, a Resident like us observed in a post just today and I quote:

I just wanted to re-emphasize trying a wired connection if you have been using wi-fi.  I had been under the impression that we had excellent wi-fi at our house - we use it for everything we do online, without any issues at all, except for my VPN connection for work, and for Second Life.  It was amazing the difference that switching to a wired connection made at certain times of day and/or other wi-fi activity occurring in our house.
