can i set up a Logitech game pad to control my avatar?  has some one prewritten profiles for this device thats a pc compatable

controler similar to a Ps 2 controler

I suspect it can, but I don't see where anyone has written how to do it.

User: Elric Anatine says she is usning one. She has some links to more information. She also added information to the SL wiki: Logitech Game Pad. I have no idea how current the information is or isn't. But, it looks to be 4/2015.
