What if I build something and don't want others to take a copy and I am not selling it?

Hi Gary,

By default, things you build are not copiable by others. There are some check boxes in the Edit window that control the permissions of anything you build. You can set those to allow anyone to move or copy your object, and you can set it so the next owner (anyone you give it to) can modify/copy/transfer it. There is also a "For Sale:" checkbox and a place to enter a price.

So, just make sure that the boxes are set as you wish and you're fine. Don't check "Move" or "Copy", don't check "For Sale:" and, if you intend to give away the things you make, set the next owner permissions the way you want them. You can always change your mind later by editing the thing again. You'll also want to make sure that the permissions on all the prims in your build are compatible. A linkset takes on the most restrictive permissions of any prim in the set.

That's fine. If you don't want to make your object copiable, just be sure to leave the box marked "Anyone Can Copy" unchecked on the General page of your Build editor.
